Ninja Steak and Sushi

By: Heather Cole

images/ninja.jpg Braselton's newest location is making a hit. For all of you who live in our area, as you know the Ninja Steakhouse locations are well known for superb food and entertainment. The owners and brothers, Steven and Edward Sun, have done an excellent job bringing the best restaurant to our area. They also have the famous Iron Wok in Dacula. All of these restaurants have a great reputation and taste authentic for their regions. As you walk in, you will feel what a relaxing atmosphere it is for everyone. Ninja Steakhouse's newest location in Braselton is much bigger with several more hibachi stations. Even on a Tuesday night you will most likely find this new restaurant busy. I would recommend making reservations for any given night. Edward and Steven are very family oriented, as both have children Their staff really goes the extra mile to make sure the children enjoy themselves from the entertainment at the grill to taking their picture on their birthday, which they receive upon leaving after they have enjoyed some birthday ice cream. They also offer the coolest Japanese soda for kids, called Ramune, which is equivalent to our Sprite. This drink has a marble on top inside that can't go thru the opening.

Watch out Sushi lovers; with 27 sushi selections on the list it was hard to make a decision. We started out with a Shrimp Tempura roll. It's topped with a fine crunch and eel sauce. Spicy sauce is served on the side of this beautiful plate presentation.

The Crunchy Tuna is raw spicy tuna rolled in eel. The Spicy Tuna was rolled in eel also. Both were excellent. From the California roll to our area's Famous Hamilton Mill roll, all sushi is served with Wasabi and their special soy-ginger sauce. Steven and Edward have always had some of the freshest sushi in the area. Upon moving from the sushi bar to the hibachi table, our chef arrived and a salad was served. This salad had ginger dressing, which was light orange in color and had a small amount of onion and soy sauce in it that was favorably mild. Next our chicken broth soup was served, which had thin mushrooms and green onions on top. Our Chef fires the grill up and cracks a few eggs for the crowd. Finely chopped bacon, onions, soy sauce, salt and pepper were added to make the fried rice. It's so good, I could live off this alone. So many different variations are offered for lunch and dinner, from chicken to filet and lobster. Vegetables are also cooked on the grill before your eyes; these include broccoli, mushrooms, onions, zucchini and carrots. Two sauces are brought out to compliment your meal. One is a soy sauce mixed with a little water, ginger and sesame seeds. The other sauce had a mustard and mayo base with a little soy. All of the vegetables and meats come in fresh daily with only the highest quality brought in house.

Beverages include 13 beers which are domestic, imported and Japanese. The house wine is Ecco. Wines include 10 whites, 2 blush and 9 reds from Austria, California, and Italy. Black Oak Select Vineyards is also offered in Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. If you are interested in mixed or specialty drinks, they have a stocked bar with several Daiquiri specials and Bacardi Martinis. For more information, visit them on line at www.ninjasteak.com.
